Shipman & Goodwin

Shipman & Goodwin is a trusted advisor, serving the needs of local, regional, national, and international clients. With 140 lawyers in Connecticut and New York, its reputation and record suggest a much larger firm.

The firm sought a more modern approach to managing digital content and wanted to upgrade its web presence while ensuring the continuity of existing marketing and business development processes. We partnered with a design agency and rebuilt the site on RubyLaw Express.

This collaborative effort entailed redesigning and reorganizing the entire web experience while implementing the RubyLaw Express CMS. It also involved repositioning the firm and accentuating Shipman & Goodwin's personalized approach to serving clients. This reconfiguration is best captured by the phrase “It’s Personal,” which features prominently on the website homepage. The use of embedded video throughout reinforces the “It’s Personal” theme.

The new CMS is integrated with RubyLaw Proposals, which allows the firm to create proposal and pitch documents using the content in the CMS and output them as native Word, PDF, and PowerPoint files. This makes the new site a stronger business development tool.

The firm also has access to RubyLaw Experience, which enables the marketing and business development teams to organize and manage matters promptly and appropriately in one place. The matter information can be displayed on the site and easily pulled into Chambers and other ranking submissions.

What’s potentially most exciting about the new website is that it has a clean and modern look and feel and is supported by a dynamic and flexible platform. This allows the marketing team to preserve the systems that work for them while enabling them to evolve further in the future and deliver a highly personalized experience.
