As law firms around the world have been thrust into remote work environments, the tools required to support collaboration, ensure heightened security, and improve productivity have come into sharper focus. Fortunately, firms that rely on RubyLaw have many of these at the ready. Here are three to consider:
Shared previews
Shared previews allow RubyLaw users to make changes to existing content and then share them with internal team members, as well as external stakeholders—including lawyers and other content approvers that don’t have RubyLaw access. With just the click of a button, content editors can easily share a preview of a page being created or edited by email or inter-office chat. Further, this can be done by all clients, regardless of RubyLaw version, without having to set up a user login or conduct a screenshare.
Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)
MFA vastly improves security. Using a time-based authentication token that is required at login, RubyLaw users can be assured that—even if someone guesses or steals their username and password—their system can’t be accessed or compromised. All RubyLaw clients have MFA security; it only has to be enabled. Also, we recently provided complimentary services to test and update it and ensure proper functionality for all RubyLaw installations.
Large file uploads and video optimization
In today’s working environment, firms are running more webinars and virtual events than ever before. Recordings of these events tend to be enormous—and, thus, rather web-unfriendly. The latest version of RubyLaw now supports uploading large files, e.g., 200MB and up, a functionality we previously restricted for both security reasons and because large file uploads negatively impacted user experience.
More, we have also created an optimized render type for digital videos that isn’t disruptive to user experience. For instance, one client recently uploaded a video with a size of 850MB; it was compressed to about 50MB without compromising quality or degrading the viewing experience—regardless of device.
If you would like to learn more about any of the above, please contact your RubyLaw representative, our Support team, or attend an upcoming session of RubyLaw Live.
